A texture picture to see how the 18-55mm WR lens performed.

A portrait shot. I don't usually use Bright as my picture style and generally prefer Natural, but the overcast conditions meant it was not too severe.

looking good to me John, would I be right in saying there is more detail in the far reaches of the shots than the K5 produces? I certainly like the colours you have brought out in these.
C&C welcome.
Don.

I think it depends more on the image content Don. The K-5 and K-5 II seem equally good to me.

Hard to tell at these sizes but there looks to be a bit of fringing on the top side of the red sleeves in pic # 3

I can see what you mean. I've had a look at the full size original and I think what we are seeing is a splash of light around her shoulders and arm that has made the red slightly lighter there.

If you want a selection, you can look at the full res versions in the actual review, which should give a better indication.

Having said that, there is some fringing in the kit lens, not particularly bad, I've seen much worse. The camera will correct it if you wish and are shooting in JPEG.

If shooting in RAW then software correction in the RAW converter will do the job.
Best regards, John
