K-5 AF Problems

I have had my K-5 for a couple of months now and I am far from happy with its focusing especially in low light. I have heard that some K-5s have an issue with this and users have returned their cameras for exchange. Is there a test that I can do to see if my camera has that problem, or whether it is just the poor focusing of the K-5 in general? Also - are the Pentax lenses that have the focus motor built into them better at focusing than the other type. I don't mean quicker, I just mean will they overcome the low light focus problem? According to the EV calc that's EV6

If you're getting AF problems at EV6 then there's somethign really wrong.

The traditional K-5 AF problems started happened at EV4 and below. You should be getting a reasonable AF lock on at EV2.

have you calibrated the AF on your lens in decent light
