Just snagged a lens bargain!

Good spot - I hadn't noticed that at all - too much else to feast my eyes on!!

Now, the next thing is to figure out how to fix that in Lightroom!! (I've only just started using it) I actually can't quite work out how it has happened but I guess the light is mostly coming from the other side so that bit around her eye has fallen into shadow.

I'd leave it, unless she objects. Artistically it goes with the feel of that shot. Both are nice shots - the 'rubbish' DA18-55 shines again

I've looked at it again and agree with Karel, it fits the image, doesn't detract.

My eyes may be going but isn't that a strand of hair going under her eye?

Thanks Steve and I fear you are right. Not sure I can eliminate stray hairs in Lightroom though and fear I need to get Photoshop to do so - am I correct??

Nearest I get to that kind of processing is removing the odd spot with Picasa

I took a look at the shots from your link and wanted to say 54 was awesome too. I guess it's just personal preference but that was right up my street.

Now I won't be posting images to back up what I am saying as the portrait shoots I have done have been for the subjects not of them for other use as such, however,

My friend also uses a Canon 24 - 105L on his 7d and leaves his 70-200L wotsit at home - I tend to have my K10d with an old m42 Hoya 135mm f2.8 and my k5 with my sigma ex dg macro 50mm f2.8 but have once swapped this for the wr 18-55.

To be honest, having sat together and processed the resulting images and tried to match them in order to provide the different shots but similar 'look' so to speak there is little difference in the results except the k10/135 combination usually gives a cooler (blue) white balance but when processed in raw all can be made to match so to speak.

The big surprise is that the k10/135 combination has produced some better results than the other combinations, not always and I am not trying to cause a stir but my advice having used this is to look out for one, mine cost around £15 and it really does deliver and as such is my first choice space permitting/subject permitting

Worth having in the bag so to speak and can be bought in k mount be it Hoya or Tokina versions as well as many other old 135's
