Just got a K-7- some setting questions

1. Natural
1b. No, any adjustments are made in Photoshop.
2. I use daylight anyway, wanting generally to reserve the quality of the ambient light.
3. Premium JPEG always.
4. ISO200 as standard, could easily be ISO400 for the K-5.
5. It slows the camera down. Plus sometimes a bit of barrel distortion on wide angle shots can enhance a picture.
6. Never use it.

The AWB is quite good during most natural light but under thungsten for example it can get it wrong but Pentax does it a lot better then most other brands so AWB is fine i believe.
I always use it but i shoot in RAW and most of the time change the WB to my taste so...

I've often wondered about these settings - there are various others eg sharpness, saturation etc. Is it best to leave these on the midway setting without adjusting up or down and leave it to Elements to do any adjustments necessary.
I shoot in RAW so what I mean is it better to do any editing in elements rather than trying to do this in camera before you take the photo?

Those settings aren't applied to RAW files only the JPG preview in the RAW file which you actually see on the back of the camera when reviewing your RAW photos but Elements use the real RAW information so you won't see those settings then.I've often wondered about these settings - there are various others eg sharpness, saturation etc. Is it best to leave these on the midway setting without adjusting up or down and leave it to Elements to do any adjustments necessary.

The only setting i can think off that has a lasting effect on RAW is the noise reduction but i would leave that one off and use a dictated program to remove the noise if needed.

I just upgraded from K-X to K-7 and have some setting questions. I'm an amateur photographer, take a bit of everything- my kids, architecture, landscape, patterns etc.
I know some settings depend on what you're taking pictures of. By in general what's the best setting for
1. Image tone?
1b. Do people actually change this for different types of photos- e.g. portrait, landscape etc.
2. I've heard that AWB isn't great on the K-7; is this true?
2b. what wold you use for indoors in the daytime?
3. Jpeg quality- I see the K-7 has up to 4 star JPEG quality. Presuming this is the best quality do you use it? Or 3 star as it's good enough for general use and takes up less space?
4. ISO Paramater; which setting?
5. why not just have distortion correction and lateral chromatic aberration correction set to on as default?
6.Digital preview- is this for video only? Is there anything like this for still shot preview that'll show me a preview/effect of settings?
I'm sure I'll have more questions but this is my lot for the moment.
