John Riley - Twelve from 2014

I think I see why we have two viewpoints here. Currently the lens is listed, or at least the latest one is, on the SRS site in Pentax fit. So I need to amend my description to include the words at the time as when the lens in question was purchased, a few years back, there was no availability in Pentax fit in the UK.

However, it's a great lens, so if it is available now in its new incarnation it's worth buying. Unfortunately the Pentax 560mm is rather less, so that might change things again.....

Very varied set John. Particularly like the pheasant. If I recall correctly, the lens you had was the first of possibly 3 versions of the 500mm

We did. I spent 20 minutes pulling my 12 together and it crashed when I uploaded. I'll start again later

A nice journey through the year. I rather like the Whitby experimental shot and the pheasant is very striking. To make only six lenses for the mount is bizarre.

excellent and entertaining set John, that Pheasant is not a bird to be messed with, good to see another different take on the Goths and though not being a bird shooter i can still see the skill it takes to get those shots

Another fine set John, October for me if I have to pick one.

I particularly like the bird shots in this set and also the way you are not afraid to experiment with lots of different equipment and techniques. I'm not sure about the Whitby experimental one, but on the other hand if we don't experiment we never end up with anything different from the norm.

The Macaw is my favourite, great colours / sharpness and the timing on this one is excellent too.
