Jessops keeping me waiting !

Well, I would assume that -13 in stock is no stock and 13 orders already in and paid for.
1000 cameras is pretty impressive in one way, but it won't go far round 300 shops!
Hope you get your camera soon - the wait will be worth it.

Hi,
"Well, I would assume that -13 in stock is no stock and 13 orders already in and paid for"
John..you assume correctly. The computer screen in the branch must show the branch stock levels via the EPOS stock system that most retailers use. The assistant was just saying what the screen said, without bothering to explain clearly to the customer what they meant..nothing changes.
cheers Steve.

I wouldn't buy from Jessops. If they are waiting for 13, I'll bet they only get 12.
SRS Microsystems has them in stock at £599 for the body. Order by phone, have it next day.
I have no connection whatsoever to SRS Microsystems other than as a satisfied customer.

Peter,
Thats outrageous that they can mess you about like that,....I hope you have not been induced to part with any money.
Cancell your order with jessops and go to the camera shop which is just behind the Chelmsford jessops,..in the precinct,...they had the K10 on Saturday displayed at the same price.
For the k10 with kit lens, SRS appear to have the best price at the moment of £665....

Hiya,
"Was that a serious question?"
George..I worked in retail for years at middle management level. Sometimes I had occasion to train people on the EPOS stock system and as soon as you started to mention minus figures quite a lot of people glazed over at first, even some managers..of course the one thing to always bear in mind is that the figures are ALWAYS wrong..
cheers Steve.

Peter's gone to Jessops because he won over £200 of vouchers in a couple of competitions - I'm guessing that played a large part in his decision to buy the camera from them (and probably to buy the camera at all ).
Also note though, that in a previous thread Peter did say that the store had one on display, but he wanted one unsullied by the hands of others - hence he had to place an order. I'm guessing he may have had the same result at Cameraworld.

Daniel: Yes, you're right; That is why I have to go to Jessops; and you're right if I hadn't won £220 towards it I would have stayed with my lovely FILM Pentaxes ! I am wondering if they would throw in a cheep cheep SD card as they are not included ( much like getting a film camera and they will not start you off with a cheep cheeep film ! )

I doubt it And anyway, at these prices, why bother with a cheap cheap card??!I am wondering if they would throw in a cheep cheep SD card
1Gb Sandisk Extreme III card for £17.90
2Gb Sandisk Extreme III card for £37.90
(Both from Picstop.co.uk where I bought my Lexar 133x 2Gb card)

gotta be worth asking, they might feel sorry for you and throw one in.
Still I agree with Matt, Picstop and 7dayshop are your friends for cheap SD cards. I just bought myself a 1GB Sandisk Ultra II card from 7dayshop for £14.49.
And if you really are feeling poor after splashing out on the K10D, 7dayshop have Samsung cards at £4.25 for 1GB. They aren't fast, but I've been using them ever since I got my Lumix compact and have never had a problem.
