Sorry buts this does make me chuckle...
A bit like Axel, I used to work in Boots, ohhhh dear.
We were given license to adjust contrast, colour the lot if we deemed worthy. I didn't even own a camera back then!!
Basically if you go into 'the High St' at the weekends you may very well get some 17yr old part-timers making your prints... ok for snaps but...
... just glad you salvaged the situation man!

Your problem reminded me of my experience with Jessop's quite a few years ago when I was working overseas. Not on D & P but the purchase of a camera.
I bought it secondhand through the post which was touted as excellent and fully functional but when I received it, the slow speeds were not working,tends to get jammed up and can only be released by manuplating the shutter speed dial and the shutter blinds looked like its seen better days.
Being one ocean away, it was not worth my while to pursue the matter so I did the next best thing, erased the name Jessop from my mind. I still have the camera and all the papers. Regards
