Is there a small silver protrusion on the side of the tubes, if so push it downwards towards the camera then twist off the lens.

If they are the same cheapies that I bought i.e., made in China, makers name Qinfeng, I had the same problem when the small silver protusion referred to by Steve, fell off.

Solved by unscrewing the tubes from the last ring left attached to the lens, it is then quite easy to pull down the metal spring strip together with the pin which prevents the lens from being rotated.
