Maybe Pentax/Ricoh are stepping up their marketing. They do not seem to have reached the Jessops in Peterborough yet. They had a Q a few weeks back but nothing since then.

Jacobs i nEdinburg had a lot of Pentax stuff when they first opened but the last time I was in (christmas) they had a lot less.
By "the new 50mm" do you mean the DAL 50mm f/1.8? I didn't know it was available yet.

To be fair, Canon and Nikon are much bigger companies. I doubt they see reps from Sigma, Tamron or Olympus that often. Assuming the entire Olympus staff aren't under house arrest!

I would have thought the Jacobs by London bridge would be one of s number of key stores in London thought over by the big two...

They must know I live in Glasgow! It is interesting since the alleged pro dealer carries next to nothing.
I've just had this thought,In all honesty, despit them being a five minute drive away with a car park next door, I'd still buy from SRS just from customer loyalty.

They must know that all of us in the area have the cameras already - and a serious dose of LBAjacobs in Leeds has in the last few days created a display case containing all the current pentax lenses with a few more in the window. i couldn't spot the cameras to go with them

Haven't looked in Jacobs for years - must have a nosey next time I am in Leeds - as last time I was in Jessops in Leeds - they had one Pentax lens - the one I had reserved and was there to collect!
Carl
No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

This is an interesting development (for a window shopper like me at least). Jacobs in Glasgow had no Pentax kit whatsoever last time I looked in. In fact when I bought a K5 from them last December they had to source the last one in the company from a shop 'down South'. that one was returned due to sensor staining and I subsequently bought one (cheaper!) from SRS.

Jessops on Oxford Street had 3 Qs, 3 K-01s, a K-5, many K-xes in various colours including pink and a selection of lenses including a DA* 60-250 for a shade over £1000... It was a fairly good display, I was pleasantly surprised. I was hoping to handle a K30 but that they didn't have.Maybe Pentax/Ricoh are stepping up their marketing. Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

That is sad. I didn't know the firm was family run.
