Thanks Don, I loved the camera, it was just right.
I didn't have time to explore the video function, but hopefully someone out there will be able to help.

Wish I had your gift for writing.... but I don't... best I can do is shoot some video and show people what the camera can do...

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

John may I ask did you consider the K5 at all when you bought the new camera and if so what made you go for the Kr. I ask as Im in the process of purchasing one or the other but not sure if I want to spend the extra cash on the K5 as the spec on the Kr looks probably all I would need.

Bought? I hope Pentax would be gifting JR cameras for his sterling work over the years.

I haven't bought the K-r yet, I was sent a loan camera to review, and it sadly had to go back after a couple of days, prised from my fingers....
Until I get a chance to look at the K5 in detail I can't really comment.
However, as I like the *istDS design more than the K10D/K20D design and as the K-r is very similar to that, it's pretty much ideal in terms of handling. I only moved from the *istDS for the improved image quality.
So we'll see...I'm in no rush as I need to buy two at once when I do upgrade the K20D bodies.
