As for the ''sub-competition''idea,my preference would be that the objects remain puzzling and unamed until after the comp has been judged. Then perhaps the tormenters can then enjoy there revealings!!so to speak. And then we can all declare''Oh i knew thats what it was''.

Tony,
just for clarification: Is the amount of head scratching on your part proportional to the point score of that entry?
Do I go for the more photographically (or aesthetically) appealing shot that has you guessing for five seconds or for the less appealing shot that leaves you out of your wits till doomsday?
So far I have a few that I find quite appealing but easy to guess. Then there is one not so appealing and a teeny weeny bit harder to guess. If I progress that scale I will enter the shot of the bulb, with the bulb off and without flash taken in the middle of the night. That should keep you guessing but would be visually less pleasing (or at least I hope it would be).
You see the head scratching is happening on both sides of this competition

High Prieni,Thanks for that,my own thoughts were that in the end its gonna be a balance between me being completly baffled(which is more than likley)and the artistic quality of the image in its own right.Tony,

For example, the perfect image would be something that is impossible to guess, but is an interesting/imaginative pic.
If someone posts a pic of a plain concrete wall at night when its foggy, the chances of winning the comp will miniscule.I hope that helps,if not clear then ask away.Antonio(for now).Where's the Valpollicello!

No, seriously, I guessed that much.

All that power and you still have to inebriate yourself on wine?
It's all clear as mud, as usual. You always have to think hard what the right balance might be. With the doors competition I think my idea was pretty good, it's just that the picture I made of it was somehow not cutting it.
It's all good fun and the fact that the outcome is hard to predict makes it even more fun.
