Ist DS2

Anyone seen the specs on this. What do you think.

Well apparently we won't be getting it here in the UK so its a bit of a moot point

From the sounds of it, it is exactly that a DS version 2.
Bigger screen, menu upgrades, maybe slightly optimised image quality.

Sounds like what nikon did with the D70s.

Considering I don't have a DS yet, a DS2 sounds like a worthy purchase, except that they don't have it here!!! I wonder how much it will be to import...

Haven't heard anything, but the chip that Pentax, Nikon, and a few others use is upgraded to 12 megapixels.

Hopefully it'll have a bigger buffer for all those big files, and a FULL KAF mount so there won't be a storm of complaints like when they released the D.

I just wish they'd make a 12mmm prime, I don't need another zoom and I don't like them anyway.

Well, from the small amount of information I have found about it so far, it seems to be a mix of what is good from the DS and the DL.

The DL seems to have better firmware than the DS and also the larger screen, so the DS2 takes on these improvements but keeps the better viewfinder.

So not that different from the DS, just slightly streamlined controls, ala DL, 2.5inch lcd, possibly slightly better image quality.

Bit disappointing, but for new users, they get an improved DS. And we love the DS, so how could it be so bad?
