I must admit I just can't imagine going on holiday and not taking photographs. Even before I was really interested in photography as a hobby in its own right, I can't remember a holiday where I didn't have a camera.
But I think a lot of people couldn't be bothered with the rigmarole of taking shots on film, sending it off and so on. Digital P&S has finally really put a camera in everyones pocket.

I can relate to this - when I went on holiday with my best mate I used up nearly twenty rolls of film in two weeks while he brought only 1 with him (though he did buy another whilst away, though he never finished it) - this was back when I knew nothing about photography so when buying film, I assumed that 400 ISO was better than 200 ISO because it was a higher number . This was in Disney World, Florida. Since going digital, even with a P&S I take even more pictures while on holiday.I must admit I just can't imagine going on holiday and not taking photographs. Looking back it probably does sound a little odd two 24 year old guys going to Disney together

At lunchtime he asked me "what is ISO" so I started to embark on an explanation using the example of film speeds and he said that he had never used a film camera, only P & S digital cameras
I must be getting old
