Hi
It should be OK being a manfrotto but I have no personal experience of it.
If you are interested in a very good value and quality tripod - I have always been happy with my Slik 400DX pro.
I paid about £120 for mine but amazon have an amazing deal on them at the moment - £69

Although price is important, you'll find the old adage of 'buy cheap, buy twice', really does apply to tripods.
What do you intend doing with it? It's weight, size, the head, etc are all important considerations and driven very much by how you intend to use it.
Do you want something that you can carry all day? You might need one made of carbon fibre.
Do you want one that will fit in aircraft hand luggage? You might want one that folds down small.
Do you want something that you'll be using with long lenses? You might want a better head.
Manfrotto have a 'tool' on their site to help you choose> http://www.manfrotto.co.uk/Service/Tripod+and+Head+Chooser/Choose+the+best+tripod+and+head+combination+with+the+Tripod+and+Head+Chooser!/3670715
In any event, Redsnapper tripods seem to be well regarded by many of the users of this Forum, see them here> http://www.redsnapperuk.com/

My brother has exactly th same tripod & head, bought separately for a total of some £130plus
He's been totally happy with it, for over a year now.
(He'll probably be a bit miffed when he sees the Currys price, but c'est la vie)

That Manfrotto tripod is great, but so is the Redsnapper 284. I've had the later and can vouch its very strong and capable. Mind you, it can take more load but also is heavier, make sure what is important for you.

I bought a different tripod from Jessops late last year. It's carbon fibre and so much lighter than the Curry's offer. I have to admit it's the only one I've ever used so can't give you a comparison but I can give you a link! it's come down a further £10 since I bought it and is now £89.99.
If you look at my portfolio you can see a picture I took this morning. I got talking to a much better equipped chap than I (big Canon full frame, enormous tripod, remote release - you get the picture! Not that I was jealous..) who said that the only reason he had upgraded to a much larger, heavier sturdier tripod was because he needed that type of equipment for when he was in windswept areas. By this I think you can expect the one I have to struggle in particularly windy conditions but I have to say it was very good this morning. Light to carry, easy to set up and no movement whatsoever.
Hope that helps
