I am watching a 50mm 1.7 A on Ebay. I have asked regarding its condition- the seller says it has no scratches mould etc but that it contains what appears to be a small eyelash and that this has no effect on picture quality.
What do think - worth a punt? If it turns out to be no good I s'pose I can always get my money back.

Personally I wouldn't touch it unless its about £20. You don't know where its come from and if it's big enough for light to bounce off it could prevent you from shooting towards lightsources. There are plenty of them around or get an f/1.4 if any popup at a reasonable price.

If it was a rarer lens I would say go for it but there are a 1001 50mm F1.7s on ebay so go for a pristine one.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I have a Tamron Adaptall 2 70-210mm 19AH F3.8 lens that I bought cheap as a backup for my mint copy and it has what appears to be a hair or smalleyelash inside.

I was quite suprised that it was there and also that it makes no difference to the photo either.
