That almost sounds like a dedicated tramping light pack, rather than needing to be a camera back.
Like I know they do similar (only much smaller than you'd need) backpacks to hold hydration bladders etc. If you store with just the body mounted to the lens, then you don't need special camera pockets etc for lenses, and just need a large enough cavity to slide the combo in.
Good luck!

Yes there is Gareth ; for exactly the same use that you describe I use the MANFROTTO MB BP-E Essential DSLR Camera Backpack - Black
Product code: 132417 from PCWorld . £29.99
It takes my gripped K1 mounted with the 150-560 HD
I also put my 28-105 in a doubled (or tripled) rugby sock and it has a convenient side pocket with a strap above it to put in a lightweight full length mono pod.
It is totally weather proof and you can buy s rain cover on the net for around £7
It also had a convenient back pocket that is fairly flat that will take non bulky items like a couple of filters batteries and lens cloths etc
This bag is light not to thick and is just great; carried my birding kit everywhere including Jjungle trip to Borneo in the rainy sesson.
Don't know how it can be so inexpensive given it is a very high quality super lightweight back pack with very nice lightweight straps

You might notice the effects of using an iphone 5 with two kilos of pork sausages on each hand for fingers
The bag is the minimal volume for the big 150-450 and one more lens with a micro waterproof jacket for stuffing.

I too have an iPhone for work, and I really wish I had a smart phone instead.

I plan to use this lens for walks around the nature reserve where I live and also walking to the airport to shoot planes. I won't be using filters etc or need a different lenses so I'm planning on travelling light.
I'm looking for a bag that like a backpack, only thinner. The idea is to have the camera attached to the Bigma and for it to sit in a thin backpack that can also accommodate a monopod externally.
The Bigma is pretty long, especially with the K3ii or K1 on the end also so i'd need to be a long thin backpack.
Does anyone know if such a backpack exists?
Thanks
