Not sure what you mean by 'work better' and 'more pronounced'. The only difference I can think of is that for any filter that has a transition (e.g. ND Grad), the transition area will cover more of the frame with APS-C than with FF.

When using them on my dirty word FF camera, the effect seems to be more pronounced. I can't remember the out come on film now, but it's probably fair to say they had a similar effect.
Any thoughts out there????
