IR from K-r

Yesterday I had lunch at a garden centre café then on the way home, during two short sunny intervals, I snapped a few shots at two different reservoirs, using my 720 converted Pentax K-r:

1.

2.

3.

4.

#1 and #2 were at a reservoir near Aylesbury; #3 and #4 at one near Tring.
Mono conversions using the Full Dynamic preset in Nik Silver Efex Pro (free version).

Here are a couple of false colour images, done (by trial and error!) in PaintShop Pro.

5.

6.

#5 near Aylesbury; #6 near Tring.

All the Aylesbury shots were with the 18-55 II kit lens;
all the Tring shots with the 50-200 kit lens.

C&C always welcome.

I love these....

Need to learn and play with false colour!
At the beggining there was nothing....

Which exploded....

Although not a fan of IR, I do rather like those false colour images. Keep up the trial and error!

Can I ask, where did you have the conversion done and how long they took?
I've been waiting 6 weeks for my conversion from advanced camera services

Thank you for all the comments above.

Michael, I also used Advanced Camera Services but it was several years ago pre-pandemic. I can't remember how long it took but I'm sure it wasn't any time as long as 6 weeks. Have they explained the delay - perhaps there's a parts supply problem?

Phillip, thanks for the reply, I've not heard from them but after what you've said I'll give them a call to see what's happening

looking good MrB like all of the b&w , not sure about the colours in the false colour. Kolari do a downloadable channel swap action for Photoshop which can be adapted for not only 720 but also for other values of IR
odd lens or 2

Thank you for your comments, Joe. Thank you also for the suggestion which others might explore and find useful (but I don't use Photoshop).

I would think IR is comparable to many other branches of photography - each photographer/viewer will have their own preferences with regard to colour, etc.

I sometimes play with IR colours, but but I actually prefer converting them to B&W images.

Cheers.
