Interval movie frames count as shutter actuations (K-1)
Divide the depreciation by the shutter count and see who got best value, the hardly used camera or the heavily used camera. Hardly using a camera equals very expensive photographs.
More importantly, I hope your time-lapse looks good.
But cheer up. It would have cost a lot more if you were using film.
What were you expecting?
I had heard that time-lapses reversed shutter count so I just had to test that theory.
I reckon you get best value if you use an item that's intended to be used. No point buying a camera and having it sat on the shelf. Soon enough it will be worth half the cost of when new, with little difference in value regardless of shutter count.

It wasn't all that good unfortunately. Should have been further away from the plant!
K1 is good for 300 k clicks...
Indeed. But this K1 is actually a K3.

The OP was talking about his K1
You are right. I am getting old.

At least I've learnt a mini-lesson about being stingy with the shutter
No the range of lenses and a smaller sensor etc obviously, but the thousands of clicks on my physical shutter just didn't sit right with me either.

Not going to be doing that again in a hurry. Maybe my K-3 should be assigned to time-lapse movies.
