Inspired by the Dutch Masters

I am fascinated by the correlation between painting and photography. I think some of the painters of yesteryear were to some extent the photographers of their day.

I am often astounded at the quality of light some of these old masterpieces often convey particularly when viewed in the flesh.

So on a cold wet Tuesday I had a go at trying to capture the feel of an old Dutch still life painting using a chopping board, butternut squash K5 with DA35mm and LR4.

Very enjoyable. So keen to learn more about getting lighting right and being able to control it. quite pleased with the result but perhaps a bit "flat"
