If you set the camera to green mode and pop up the flash it should sort it out for you.
Set in other modes you can I think vary its output from the menus so the degree of fill-in suits.

I don't have a K5 but I would imagine that it is quite similar to the other Pentax dslrs
I find that P mode and setting the flash to -1 stop produces reasonable results in casual portraiture situations
If you leave it to its own devices it will be 'correct' but ovrdone

However I never really came to grips with this. To be truthful,
I have no Idea how to use it. I read about it and saw pictures with and without it (portraits mainly) but I never found out what to set on my camera (K5). To try and take advantage of it. Is there an automatic flash fill-in in setting?
If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.
