Ideas for cropping please

As I struggle with postprocessing, still a disaster with PS , but getting there slowly, I wanted ideas about how to get the best out of this image please.
Its an image of a soap bubble, at macro level, and after playing with some light the various spectrum of colours come out. I like this one and I was wondering on how best to crop or edit it in a way that it could look good.

I tentacles are just parts of the bubbles that were attached to the outer rim that was holding the bubble, which I have just painted black on top of it to blend with the black background.

I was thinking of just cropping it right through and remove all the extremeties but then I end up with much lesser of the image. Also looking at it the way it is it gives a slight perception of three dimensional due to the way the bubbles turn on the edges that have the belly shapes so I was thinking it might not be a bad idea leaving it as it is.

Ideas and suggestions and advice highly sought please.

Cropping is pretty much a matter of personal choice with images like this, its not as if you have to decide where to put the donkey in a landcape is it?
If the image was mine I would simply go for a total abstract by removing all of the black background and retaining as much of the coloured pattern as possible, even stretching the image width afterwards to return to a more attractive aspect ratio.

Lovely shot though, and the colours are gorgeous.

Can you please explain me the above? and how to do it? I am using CS4, but aside straight cropping I have never done anything different, but I think I have a clue what you are implying, just do not know how to go around it. Can you please exemplify?

Amin - that is a superb pic (must get a macro lens soon!!!)

I'd agree with Alan; stretch the image horizontally; though I'm not sure how you'd do this is cs4.

This is all I know how to crop. It was a similar type of image and I just removed the extremeties to make it look an abstract.
Got a few of these ones in the batch so would love to find a nicer way of editing all in the same way to be part of a series.

I use PS7 (yes I know its ancient) but I would think they are similar.

From the menu at the top choose "image" then "image size" this should open the box for making adjustments, the figures in there should be the current size. as you can see you can change by either pixels or cm. I always do it by pixels. NOTE there will be a check box in there with something like "constrain proportions" this must be unchecked otherwise the hight will automatically adjust as you change the width.

Amin, the smoke art you have done is simply stunning.

Things are going to be better for me financially this year; and I will be buying a few new lenses. I was going to get the Sigma 17-70 macro to replace my kit lens and give a bit more reach and add macro functionality too. BUT I have to say...the DFA 100 is still tempting me, and looking at what you have produced I am in awe.

I was seriously considering the 'Bigma' (Sigma 50-500) in Dec/Jan - but I'm still wondering if the money saved by getting the Sigma 150-500 or even 120-400 would be better for me so I can afford another lens such as the DFA 100.

Hmmmm......I will have to give it some serious thought...

Amin - I must say for someone still new to photography you are producing quality results. Will this ever take over from your running though!?!?!?

About the 100mm Macro, its really a stunning lens. I am not very experienced in the field but all I can say is that this lens has helped me achieve the quality in images that I have in pf at the moment. I am really thankful to the members here who advised me to get it.

And about running , nope, I dont think so. I am literally addicted to it and some other few physical activities that I have been practising for years now. The adrenaline rush I get from clocking the miles and working out is just unique LOL, and I love it, but I must say, I get the same adrenaline rush when I am using my camera, so kind of complements each other. lol.
