I've done it again......

....I sold my Pentax A* 85mm f1.4 lens a few months ago, but....

....I found another and got bitten by LBA again

Although I prefer the FA* (mainly because of Autofocus), the A* really is beautiful to use. Here's a quick snap taken yesterday (cropped slightly)....

I'm going to have to sell a lens or two shortly to fund this addiction (FA 20-35 or maybe even the FA* 80-200)

Know the feeling - traded in my previous Sigma 105 macro for the Pentax DFA 100WR macro and now have just purchased what may be the last brand-new Pentax fit Sigma 105 on the planet.

I have a feeling i'll be doing the same thing in a few months. Just bought a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 but in order to get it promised my wife the Pentax A 50mm 1.7 would go to part fund it. I love the 1.7 but if i don't do it she never let me buy another thing.

Well done buying back another 85. Lovely lens.

I've been using my Sigma 105mm DG EX macro for weddings and it has performed brilliantly, very sharp, great colours, great bokeh, all in all a bit of a star lens for me. BUT, I'm hankering after a DA*50-135 - what should I do?

Cheers

I've had to put my lens buying on hold having gone on a bit of a buying spree recently. I had decided to sell on some of my other lenses to offset the cost, but individually they're not really worth selling...

I was looking for an SMC-Tak 85/1.8 but might have to settle for the Samyang 85/1.4 when there's a bit more cash in my piggy bank.

But I've got three cameras (at the moment), umpteen lenses and I've already told her I need another K-5IIs Bob!

It is a slippery slope! My excuse is that I need the best gear if I'm going to do weddings. I blame Puma - it was him that asked me to help him with the wedding shoots and now I'm considering spending nearly £1600

Best wishes

Nasty thing LBA ... sold my Sigma 100-300mm f4 a while back, was looking through my pictures the other day and came to the conclusion a lot of my best were taken with that lens ... then out of the blue came a chance to buy another copy.

You can guess what happened next

Still am happy with the 60-250mm and it would be the one I would keep if it came down to a choice. I had to sell my DA* 55mm f1.4 and Sigma ring flash to pay for the 100-300mm f4 but I never used them anyway.

The Sigma may not be quite as good as the Pentax in the IQ department but as I have said a few times, it does take a teleconverter well. As you say, best of both worlds.

Quick test when I got it the other day, 100-300mm f4 and Sigma 2x teleconverter, probably around a 75% crop. 580mm handheld.
