I Suppose It Had To Happen...

I have about 30 square feet of shelving filled with Kodak carousels. That represents more than thirty years of Kodachrome taken by my father and myself (I bought my first digital camera a year after he passed). A few years ago my brother bought a slide and negative scanner, and now that he has finished scanning I have it. I have the projector on the side table to my right, and an empty carousel on my left. The vast majority of the slides will be scrapped. The remaining slides will be scanned, but the originals will be kept. The extra carousels will likely be trashed as even Goodwill doesn't want them.

Get your film negatives or slides with none of the fun of shooting a film camera? No thanks.
