I keep all the boxes

I have a cupboard I'm afraid to go in, same sort of thing.
The boxes from items cascade out filling the floor and my wife usually asks why I keep them?
I tell her it's for future re-sale value!

I keep boxes from everything and stick them in the loft - if I re-sell them they're there, and if I don't they're extra insulation anyway...

I keep all my boxes in one massive box in my wardrobe, luckily my wife understands about the re-sell value of lenses and cameras.

Mine are under my desk in the spare room, very useful especially as I had to send my K20D by to Pentax due to a fault. the only box I don't have is for my MX-5n (lost in the move back from Croydon 6 years ago)

Now the clever thing to do is to hide the smaller boxes in the bigger boxes- that way the xyl will never find out about all those limited lenses etc!!!

I hide mine in the loft. She never goes up there! Of course if something does accidentally appear when she's at home I always explain how it was a second-hand bargain (depite the box being security sealed)!

My boxes reside behind the wardrobes in the space created by having one wardrobe deeper than the others.
My least used lenses are in a flight case under the bed (however - a couple have migrated to my underpants draw for ease of access and added security!

I have few boxes, but by golly that PZ1 box brings back memories. I rem ember trying my Tokina AT-X 28-70 f2.8 zoom on a PZ-1 in a London camera shop in about 1992. I then put the lens back on my trusty P30-T and left the store thinking, ïf it wasn't for this travelling thing, I'd have that lens". Anyway, now I'm settled in Australia, with kids, mortgage, dog and the travelling days are a lifetime ago. Just a thought. Plenty of blokes on this site have very expensive lenses. You don't need the fastest telephoto lens to get a great result. Take your 18-55 standard zoom out and use it!! Don't sweat about high tech. Most of the truly geat pictures had no planning, just luck. Power to Average Joe!!

When I think of the cost, . . . . . . . well it's best not to think about that
