I don't know which lens to get.

I shoot a fair amount of football. It's getting to that time of year when floodlights come into play a lot more. I shot a match on Tuesday and could only just get some useable images.

I currently have a Sigma 170-500 f4.5-6 lens on my K10d

The options as I see it are the Sigma or Tamron 70-200 f2.8 lens, or the new Pentax 60-250 f4 when that is released.

I'm thinking the Sigma/Tamron would be the best in the lower light, but the Pentax lens is weather proofed, which is useful. Why couldn't the Pentax be f2.8?

Ideas?

It would be too expensive and they wouldn't sell many. I've no doubt that it would be a superb lens.

And it would be rather BIG

I have the Sigma 70-200 lens and it's a good 'un.

Another option is the K20D which has better low light capability!

Also, what about the Sigma 100-300 F4, SRS Microsystems have it for £759.

I'm with beakynet....
the bigma is a fine lens. I wish I had one. Unfortunately critters won't pay for portraits, and wildlife stock, is too abundant already....so I'll have to go without for now.

the k20 has better low light/high iso imaging than the k10. a second body is a good idea!
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.
