Hell of a bargain! ..... supposed to be similar to the M100 f/2.8
in performance terms.
I never got round to owning one, but in the film days a 135mm
was far too flat for head and shoulder portraits printed any
bigger than postcard size. I always imagined that the 120mm
would be better.

Sounds like you got a great deal on a well-regarded lens. If you don't want it then sell it on at a profit.
I'm not a big fan of dog shots, but that one's really good, I like it.

I have read a lot that the 100/120 M lenses are spot on tele portrait primes, with great sharpness. And for a mere 20 quid! I am SO jealous!

I've got a Takumar 120/2.8 (optically identical, I believe) that gives really nice bokeh.

Nowadays they seem to live of rentals of light systems and act as a broker for old gear. They do not even sell dSLRs.
Was hoping to find a 35mm or 28mm Takumar to complete my M42 kit, but walked out with a M120/2.8 for roughly 20GBP (ZAR250). Looks OK, optical nothing wrong to be found. But I totally don't have a need for it; just could not resist for that price
