Guys, can you tell me if the AF speed and accuracy has improved on the K511 & K511s with a long lens attached ie Sigma 150-500?.
I will try for you Cliff and do the video and send it to you or post it on here BUT GIVE ME A LITTLE TIME TO DO IT LOL

16 Reasons for the Pentax K-5 II
connectivity
Has an HDMI output Yes vs No Video and movies can be watched on a TV with HDMI input
physical
Less body volume 927.61 cm³ vs 1,046.89 cm³ 11.39% less body volume
Slightly shorter 131 mm vs 132 mm 1 mm shorter
Much narrower 97 mm vs 103 mm 6 mm narrower
camera
Marginally larger sensor 23.7 x 15.7 mm
("APS-C") vs 23.6 x 15.6 mm
(APS-C) 1.07% larger sensor. The larger the sensor the more light the sensor captures yielding in better image quality.
Has sensor shift stabilization Yes vs No The sensor capturing the image can be moved in such a way as to counteract the motion of the camera, often referred to as mechanical image stabilization which is superior to a electronic stabilization only. When the camera rotates, causing angular error, gyroscopes encode information to the actuator that moves the sensor.
A little better image quality 82 vs 80 2 better image quality. A device's overall image quality score considers: color depth, dynamic range and low light performance. We use metrics from http://wwww.dxomark.com
Has manual shutter speed Yes vs No This allows to manually set the shutter speed.
Has manual gain Yes vs No This allows to manually set the gain.
Significantly faster shooting at highest resolution with AF as JPEG format 7 fps vs 6 fps 16.67% faster shooting at highest resolution with AF as JPEG format. Fast continuous shooting is useful for catching action shots.
Lots lower noise at high ISO 1,235 ISO vs 1,167 ISO 6% lower noise at high ISO. The maximum ISO at which the device still captures excellent quality images. We use metrics from http://wwww.dxomark.com
A shade better color depth 23.8 bits vs 23.5 bits 1.28% better color depth. The better a device's color depth the more color nuances it can distinguish. We use metrics from http://wwww.dxomark.com
Has an image stabilizer Yes vs No Avoids blurry shots, usually most cameras are equipped with electronic image stabilizers.
A bit wider dynamic range 14.1 EV vs 13.9 EV 1.44% wider dynamic range. The better the dynamic range the system captures a wider number of values from dark to light leading to more details in low and highlights.
Somewhat more megapixel (photo) 16.3 MP vs 16.2 MP 0.62% more megapixel (photo)
A little bit better video recording quality 1080p @25 fps vs 1080p @24 fps 5% better video recording quality

Would you say its worth trading in k5 on autofocus alone Is the constant auto focus better

Had my K5 iis for 7 days now and am really impressed with the low light autofocus, plus the generally spot on focus in daylight as well compared to a K5 which is still a gret piece of kit, the iis is superb.

Quite an interesting video, but the shots all seem very close
to each other distance wise. It would be better to take one
at about 2M then 6-10M then 2M again.
One of the things that makes the K-5 seem slow with the
55-300mm is that the camera focuses by turning the focus
ring in towards min. focus until it finds a hit... if it
doesn't it comes all the way into min. focus and then goes
out again until it finds a hit. The way to speed things up
is turn the lens to infinity before pushing the focus button,
so that it will always just do the one trip and not
go in/out.

I can now say that if any of you have this camera then you will know what I mean it doesn't feel good in your hands its very light yes but the problem is that's because its made from full cheep plastic it really is a cheep camera but full on cost as its £499.99 to buy I always was thinking about getting a canon full frame but this has really has made up my mind to stick with Pentax not that I would change anyway as I have six Pentaxs and lens as well but any doubts I had are well and truthfully washed away.
So the reason for this post is to say stick to Pentax they really have got it right, the fast speed of auto focus on the K5IIS and K5II does mach the Canon and over takes the Nikon D7000 It really does as I now and can tell you that I have put the K5IIS to the test up against Nikon D7000 with the one that my friend has and it did kick ass. fast lock fast focus the lot i was so made up so i told him to walk away in to the sun set and pick up a Pentax it felt great to say that to him.
so there you go is the grass is greener.
NO!
