Not in the same league as Galoot, but does it work? C&C appreciated.

Yes, without a doubt. It's not trying to be the same type of shot as Galoot's.

Visually it's more of a snap than a piece of art, but many good photographs are precisely that - they record a moment in time that's worth recording. God help us all if we lose sight of that.

And this picture does exactly that. Lots of stuff going on, the moment caught perfectly, the interest visible on all four faces.

It might benefit from a touch more contrast and sharpening, but it's just fine as it is.

So has the lady in the background got exactly the same photo but with you standing there with the camera instead of her?

It also works if you imagine the carrot is coming out of the cows mouth! Puts a whole new slant on things...

I would agree with ChrisA, needs a bit more contrast to lift it a bit. I might have used f4.0 or more, if you had it on the lens, to blur the background a bit, and shift the focal point to the people and cow.

I was there to photograph a sunset, and failed, but ended up with the cows, you were recording interaction with people and the cow, so as ChrisA said, " not the same type of shot".

p.s. might clone out the guy with the white T-shirt on top left, it's strange the things that catch your eye in photographs

Yes it is. Where's the lens on the P&S that the lady is using?

That's the latest 'self-portrait', camera.

Have you not seen the reviews in "Woman's Own'.

The Lady is actually my sister, and I don't think she did! I was in full FPS for this one! It was the middle of 3 pics that caught what I wanted.

Funny you should ask that! It's the small black dot on the left of the camera next to the flash!

Hey, enough dribble was, don't need the carrot image too!

The only problem with F4 is it would not have given me the 'freeze' I was after and I don't like pushing the ISO! Contrast I will give it a try.
