Just undo the screws around the casing and it will pop apart, just watch out for nasty electric shocks fom the flash capacitors. work on a tray that will catch the screw should they fall.
Mine got wet and the lens refused to come out again. I bought one on ebay with a damaged screen and put my old screen in that one. I hadn't a clue how to sort the water damage.

Water damage usually kills cameras, especially salt water.

Thanks for the tips Gartmore, I'll see what happens when I remove the screws.
It wasn't salt water the soaked it John, it was water in a pothole under North Yorks!

Get the batteries out of it as soon as possible.
Any water will create high resistance paths between components and if there is power it can electronic failure.
Once you have it apart, get some demineralised/deionised water and wash it fully using a paint brush to remove any particles. Then dry gently in an airing cupboard for a couple of days.
Most PCBs are washed in water after assembly to remove flux and other residues - water will not harm them, until power is applied.
And if that does not work, claim on insurance and buy a W60 next time ...
