How to hang a camera from rucksack shoulder straps?

Evening

In a recent post, I said that I had finally bought one of these Lowepro Photo Hatchback rucksacks?

Since then I have been thinking about how to minimise what I take with this on holiday, and then I saw this chest harness from 7 Day shop as a good way of easily carrying one (maybe two) without the need for a small shoulder bag as well. (weight/size is going to be an issue on this holiday as we will be moving around a lot as party of a party).

That would seem quite a good type of solution, but I don't want to wear both the rucksack and the harness at the same time - so can anyone point me in the direction of something like the camera-hanging straps & carabeeners used on the 7DS harness, yet which could be attached to the main straps on this rucksack?

NB I found some on the Clifon Cameras site, but they seem pretty expensive for what they are!

You may be able to use the small grey straps already there. I'm amazed at the backpack not coming prepared for that, at that price.

Buy some paracord and weave your own?

I use karaniners and toe straps from a cycle shop, economical, safe and easy to adjust/use.

Bit surprised myself but unfortunately the best it has are really the Lowepro-branded flat loops near the shoulders but I think they are too high up to be a practical solution of where to fix the supports.

I use on of these and absolutely love it.

Think Tank provide D rings on their rucksack shoulder straps and purpose designed clip on camera suspension straps. Its a unfortunate that you have already bought the Lowepro sack.

D rings, webbing and all the nylon buckles and clips can easily be obtained on Ebay and in the past I have managed to sew through padded rucksack straps but it's hard going. Driving the eye of the needle into your finger or hand is one hazard.

Ideally you also need restraining straps going down to the harness attachment points at the base of the rucksack otherwise when walking uphill the camera continually swings and bumps against your chest which can be wearisome on a long hike.
