How much to pay for a second hand lens

Hi just a quick question, what would be a reasonable price to pay for a da 50-200mm lens? Just need a rough idea before I start looking.

Difficult to put a value on this lens as it's an inexpensice kit lens, and I have seen ridiculous prices charged for it. Many will say it's too good for it's monetary price, but the fact is that if you come to trade it in you will get very, very little for it.

Just look to see what the price differential between camera + 18-55 and camera + 18-55/50-200, then you'll get a good idea

Well SRS are selling new ones for £139 and it is the WR version. If you tell them that you are a Pentaxuser member you will get it post free. If buying second hand I would pay about 2/3 or so. Say £90-100 depending on condition and whether WR or not.

Thank you, I've never really bothered with zooms and thought this might be a good place to start.

More recently these have been selling second hand for between £40-£60

I agree with Lennybloke, of around the £50 mark. Not a bad place to start in the world of telephoto lenses. Not the best quality, but an able performer. Most people soon upgrade it though, to the more versatile and better quality DA55-300.

DAL version around £40

DA version around £60

DA WR version around £90

I looked at the 55-300 but I'm just not sure how much I will use it
