Had the chance to give the *Ist a bit today. Using my favourite mill building by a river, just for the defninition of the bricks, windows etc. I was surprised at the lack of difference between to *Ist and my K200D. Same lenses used. In practical terms, there would seem to be very little difference between 10 megapixel and 6+ something megapixel for many images.
Still, can't have too many gadgets though.

My very first digital SLR an *ist DS, When my 35mm *ist developed a fault and was sent back to Pentax UK they said it was an uneconomic repair and would I like a Digital body in return FOC the rest is history.
Pentax has had loads more business from me.
You would not get that sort of treatment from the other brands. good old Pentax

Hertfordshire,
mostly.
Check out this link some interesting reading
I own the *ist DS as a backup to my K20. I use it mostly with my old takumar lenses, Great camera but I do miss the front wheel on occasions.
Cheers, Kris.
It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
