Hubby and I 'share' a K10D betwwen us but with my little hands something smaller would be better for me & a K-x would give some functionality we don't have e.g. Live View, video. So, I would like one but don't have the money they are going for at the momment.

With the K-r being announced I am hoping that prices for used K-x's might fall. I know some of you have more knowledge and experience of the 'patterns' of prices reducing over time.

So, how long do you guys think I will have to wait before I can pick one up (obviously fully working, good condition etc.) for about £200?

You might be missing some controls and features, why not wait till the K7 comes at that price?

I would think that will be some time. K10Ds are still going for well over £200

Mike has had a great deal for the one he bought, also in the £200 number I believe.

Mike's was an exemption - a mess up by the shop. It will be a long time until the K-7 drops that low.

At £200 I'd keep the Kx as a second body/spare rather than flog it!
Still shooting in the dark (literally and metaphorically)...

the kx is not being discontinued to my knowledge... is a fine camera for the price, and as such will not go down very much in used pricing...

I see many people who bought this camera showing no buyers remorse or "New camera" envy... most view it as a keeper...

like my ds2, I see that one going to my son rather than up for sale.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Strange the k-x should drop so low, yet k100d super's are still fetching £200ish...

For £250 it hardly seems worth getting rid, given the quality of the sensor...

Same here. I currently have a K"0D and K10D ( bought the K10D as a secodn body ) - When I get a K-5 I'ev decided to keep the K10D. I was goign to sell ti offest the K-5 cost but it takes good pics and doesn't have any dark frame nonsense at any shutter speed. And having a spare can't be a bad thing.

ON some shoots I can see myself taking 3 bodies over my shoulder.

All of the Pentax DSLRs seem to hold their value pretty well. I was looking at prices for the *ist D a while ago (decided not to bother as despite the extra features it's still an older, lower resolution sensor than my K-m) and they seem to be holding at around the £150-£180 mark for an almost ten year old camera from reputable sources.

Did that on Saturday - had the K-m and original KM with me! Shooting digital to stitch for panoramas and B&W film for the detail it brings out in stonework.

Yes I fear it's so popular that it will be a long time but then there might be the odd bargin as the e-bay one posted.

It's definately the K-x I want , it Kx feels just perfect in my little paws and the K7 does not. There is no functionality I use on the K10 that the K-x hasn't got so that's not a problem for me.

K-X twin lens kit is £399 at Currys at the moment!

i'm half tempted by a cheap second body, especially as the k-x would complement the k-7 with regards to low light shooting. would be good if one of these came down to a mega affordable price!

I'm keeping an eye on things and in the last few days the srs new body only price has come down c.£50 to £329.

So well done to people who have sold their k-x's for almost as much over the last couple of months!

On the srs used pages I am seeing D-ist stuff which I guess people are swapping for K-r's but no sign of a k-x yet.

Now, e-bay prices seem far too high compared to new but presume they will fall once people realise they can buy new for not much more.

I only need the body so am hopeful that a second hand one will fall into my price range sometime in the next year now.
