Hi Guys

Can someone tell me how I add the details to the image in photoshop.

By this I mean
ISO
shutter speed
lens
metering
etc etc..

All these details are there on the original but I cant find a way to add them in an edited version in PS.

I have seen in PS you can add a few things in file info section but it wont let you type in these details above.

Or do you guys know another method ?

Cheers Pete

Try opeing the images you have made in Adobe Bridge as neither Windows XP or Photoshop will show the full EXIF information for certain file types.

If you save as PSD only limited info will be stored, once converted to JPG or TIFF the extra info will (should be present).

If you don't have Bridge Pentax Photo Browser will also show the available info but not for PSD files.

When saving in PS there is a box you can tick to save the exif with the photo.

IIRC and your are refering to converting tiffs or saving jpg's...

In CS2 save or save as will preserve the exif data, if you use save for web the exif data is removed.

What do you use to view your photos? In Windows, right click and choose properties.
In Irfanview under the tab image click on Information and then on Exif, in PSE4 (and I assume in PSCS2) rightclick, choose properties, metadata.

Actually, in Irfanview, just press E.

When I right click and go to properties of the image and also if I look at the exif in silky pix it only shows basic info like filename, filesize, colour space and thats it !!

Nothing about ISO , Lens, Meterting etc.. etc.. as it does in the original image.

This happens as soon as you save as a new jpeg after editing the original.

If you are using the free version of Silky, it is possible this EXIF info is not retained.

In the paid version, it is. Check your settings.

Are you talking about Silkypix or Irfanview?

In your picture of Jenna, Jenna3-2.jpg, Irfanview shows all the EXIF data if you press E.

Hi Guys again

I really need help with this one

My exif info is not showing half the data from the original photo and in my opinion the most important things. The only way I think I can do this is to take the data from the original photo and move this to the new photo.

This works OK but there are some things I don't want to change such as the new file size or colour representation etc..

Is there a very simple piece of software that I can change the data info one by one step by step.

Its pulling my hair out because bloody photoshop has not retained the info from the original image.

Pete,

Just check all your settings. You are doing something wrong, but it's difficult to help you without sitting down at your machine.
