I'm surprised to see that as it's the widest there is for 645. I suppose the new 28-45 must have sent sales of the 25mm plummeting.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it was something to do with the price.

Thought that the FA was discontinued, not the DFA. Surprising decision for sure.

I spoke to a Pentax dealer and price or competition from the 28-45mm wasn't the issue, Unfortunately one of the elements in the lens was apparently made by Tokina and they couldn't produce them any longer.

It must be very frustrating for Rich co to produce a camera that none of the other lens makers are interested in.

Traditionally very few Medium Format cameras had independent lenses made for them. There are so many formats, many with leaf shutters in the lenses, that the market is generally too small for independents to design & manufacture lenses. Its not like you cantata a generic lens computation and stick a different mount on it like you can in 35mm.

The few non-manufacturer branded lenses available in MF are largely joint-efforts with the camera manufacturer.

Bronica had quite a few independents and their original lenses were by Nikon.
