Hiya,

I'm Sarah and I live in Wellingborough (Northamptonshire).

I am COMPLETELY new to Photography, I have just inherited my Dad's old Pentax K100D with various lenses and a tripod I have had it for 2 days and I'm in love with it, it's not the best camera in the world but it's taking some pretty nice pictures for me. I am taking pictures of anything and everything at the moment, and I love it

I look forward to learning lots about Photography on the forum and meeting some nice people.

Sarah

Yes hello and welcome.I had a K100d and loved it - was very pleased with many of the shots I took with it - I sold it when I got my K30 and still miss it!

Thank you jemx99 I've heard that a lot about this camera, my Dad just bought the K3 and once he got it he was actually preferring the feel and look of the K100D, he never left me with the K3 though lol

I experienced this briefly when I went from the K10D to the K-5.

The unfamiliarity wore off very quickly and I soon preferred the feel of the K-5.

I've had the K-3 for two days now, and already I prefer it to the K-5 (though obviously I would say that, wouldn't I).

I'd say that ergonomics has been the single most distinguishing feature of Pentax cameras, and there's been a lot to like about every generation. I think you'll like the K100D while you have it, and you'll like the next one when you upgrade.

Hi Sarah

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on becoming the owner of a Pentax DSLR - this gift from your kind father could be a life changing experience.

If you enjoy using your new camera, you will learn a great deal from the experience of photographing; a different way of looking and seeing what is always around us, an opportunity to capture an instant in time, and whatever else you make it.
