Hi everyone

Seeing as this is my first post I thought it should be here!
I've been dipping into the forum for a wee while and appreciating the knowledge of other users.

I've been taking photos with a Kx for about 3 years and have had my K5 for the last year. I do like the K5

To be honest I'm a bit lazy getting out taking photographs so I'm hoping being able to post a pic or two here may inspire me.

Living in West Lothian, Scotland

Regards
Sam

Welcome Sam. How did you come to Pentax, were you an owner of an old Pentax film camera or was it like me - the Pentax DSLR was the best in the shop for the price?

Yes, the Kx with 2 lens kit was really good value when I bought it and I just liked how it felt to hold!

After walking Hadrians wall (it was raining alot!) I longed for some weather sealing and bought a K5 and the 18-135. It's quite handy living up here. It's such a solid bit of kit.

I also have had fun using older glass bought cheap online. The backwards compatibility with older lenses has been a major bonus for me.

The handling and 'feel' of Pentax seems to be a clear plus point. I do wonder though what will happen when all the shops are gone, the places we can handle the items and see them physically compared to the competition. It was this physicality of the experience that sold it to me, someone who didn't know anything about Pentax digital cameras.

I can't honestly say I would have made the same choice if I'd been shopping online, as its possible that many of the special features would not have jumped out so clearly on a list of technical specs.
