Keep your words soft and nice in case you have to eat them.

I wouldn't worry about using the ist D, it still is a very good camera and very well built

Hi Dogpaws.Sounds like you would be good for advice yourself. Welcome

Yeah, in the sense of "This is what you shouldn't do"

Thanks for all your welcomes. I will endeavour to get some pics and links up. I've spent some enjoyable time looking at other peoples pics and have already pilfered some ideas, I mean found some inspiration, yes, that's it.

Welcome to the forum, I have lots of those "This is what you shouldn't do" moments.
K20D and a few different lenses. Plus I'm a complete noob.

I own an Pentax ist D and a couple of Pentax zooms and an 100mm f2.8 smc-fa macro lens. I've also got a Canon S30 for snaps, in fact it was my first pitch into digital cameras. Also got a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual film scanner for the many films I have.
I've been using cameras for years. I think I started with a Cosina and the D is the latest. I'm not a prolific photographer but I do enjoy the process, especially digital. In fact it was digital that got me into using the cameras more. I watched and waited, probably like many of you, for it all to mature and then pitched in.
The whole darn thing moves so fast now, my D has already been left behind, though it works pretty well for me still.
Looking forward to making a few posts: Now to sort out an avatar.
