hi everyone ,just joined, brought a k200 two months ago,and since then have brought about 60 cameras with lenses to get some lenses around me,never had a dslr before and wondering how hard it will be to learn manual lens use.i have quite a selection now, takumars, jenners, tair, etc.i am worried i have caught some disease of buying old kit,2.5k last count.am i certifiable or is it common. out of country and not even touched any of it yet.

Hi nigel, welcome to the forum, £2.5K can buy a pretty decent set of modern glass. But then if you enjoy the old stuff why not ? Perhaps it is time to stop and see what you actually need for the K200, you will be able to use the old glass but as you seem to have the funds why not treat yourself to some shiny new stuff?
The way prices are going you may be able to recoup your expenditure, providing of course you havn`t paid over the odds.

Welcome to the forum. You should be posting some excellent shots with all that lovely, expensive glass!

Hello Nigel and welcome to the fold. Yes indeed,it appears you may have caught the lens/kit buying affliction! When you get home, why not give some of the glass a go and then post a selection of photos? It will be exciting to witness the variances.

Best of luck,

Stephen
I gladly welcome C & C's. Being foggy minded they really help me learn.

that sounds a great idea but first i have to learn basics of camera, got weak today and went on ebay and brought a k-x,so now i will be selling a k100 ,and trying out the k200 and k-x.got my eye on some more old lenses too, trouble with sniper you never forget to bid like i used to before i started using it.only way to buy on ebay, one bid three seconds from end and no time for a response.cheers nigel.

Welcome to the fora. I thought I was excessive with my collection but 60 bodies in two months! I have taken over 25 years to accumulate my pile of stuff, although I admit that ebay and here have allowed me to buy all sorts of odds and sods I wouldn't have got otherwise, like a copipod and a stereo adaptor!

Best wishes, Kris.

PS Please could you fill in your location? Thanks!

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

talking of sniper i even brought a sniper outfit with the stock and big russian 300mm lens ,coz it had a small super takumar with it.have read good reports about this big goliath of a lens though ,so it was a no-brainer.
