Same thing happened with my istD but in the first two days. Argh!
Nothing would clean that out. (didn't know the screen was removable at the time). You'll probably have to remove the focus screen to clean it. But since you're looking to replace that anyway, kill two birds with one stone.
From what I hear, these focus screens are very helpful for manual focus, but metering is only accurate at F/2.8 or wider (I think). So you may need to manually meter if you have lenses that don't open that far up.

unless it interferes with veiwing/focussing, i'd suggest you leave it alone...it can't affect your images, and it's not going anywhere....
if you know how the screen is removable....if you don't have experience be forewarned...they are very easy to damage.
if you get a new screen, and take it to a repair shop to havit installed, I'd think they'd clean for you, no extra charge.

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

i have had my k100d a few weeks but have noticed some fluff/dust/fibre on the upside of the focus screen.
is there a way to clean that as a rocket blower isnt getting up there.
also as im new to DSLR, what is all this about changing the focus screen so you can get better manual focus ? any good ?
thanks
