another thread disappears. Our moderators are rather trigger happy at the moment, stamping on opinions that do not correspond with their own and stifling dissent.

I appreciate that the moderators' role is sometimes difficult, but it's difficult to see how the present contretemps could have been dealt with in a worse manner (the locked 'Heartless' thread refers; its successor and predecessor threads have disappeared).

For my part (this will cheer them), I wish to play no further active role in the site while it is being moderated so heavy handedly.

Just a couple of observations....

regardless of what has been said, and not been said, the Heartless thread is still there.. mods probably realise that deletion of that thread could cause meltdown.

Mindful of what has been said and what we think of the moderation we should consider the effect of people visiting PU for the first time. We've had battles on here before, established forum members have been driven away by this, and much as I feel for Laura's predicament (don't know the full story) it is probably best to draw a line under this episode to avoid new members turning away.

This forum is a poorer place if members leave. I just hope that no-one is barred.

I haven't a clue what all this is about, not having see Louise's original post or having the faintest idea for the reason behind the Mod's action. Perhaps there were legal implications that can't be discussed publically?
But one good thing appears to have come of it - Louise can now be in no doubt about the tremendous support and friendship she can enjoy on this Forum. I hope she has gained some comfort from this.

You wanna know what surprises me?

The Jack.

Gets me every time, there I am enjoying my wine-di wine-di box and up it fookin pops, get me every time!
I'm only 4fut3, but I look a lot bigger from a distance

Nikon D600, 18-55, 50 F1.8, Sigma 70-200 HSM,180macro.
MZ-7, K-10,K-7, all gripped.
Pentax 35 28-80

A sexy little Q with 8.5mm Prime.
And a cup with a gorrila on it, it's also chipped a little, but holds tea perfectly well.
