Pentax first...

After it anti-hooks since the outlet of Konica Minolta at present no digital mirror reflex camera with system on the market gives, Pentax with the new K100D exactly such announces a camera. The advantage of this technology is in the fact that the Bildstabilisation does not have to be present in each objective, which is her in the camera Body. So one can use also older objectives and come nevertheless into the benefit of sharp pictures.

Like a small miracle it seems to one then that e.g. at admission with 600 mm (similar to 400 mm) and one verschlusszeit of “nur” a 1/200stel the admission free-handle also without the bulky tripod are possible. All the same which Pentax objective with k-bayonet is used whether from the m-series or a current since objective - a sensor steered magnetically into the kameragehaeuse more integrated and adjusts movements of the camera reliably. The computer, which objective with which focal length is used, integrated into the camera, recognizes and makes the attitudes for the Shake Reduction system, necessary for it.

With the older objectives, which are not recognized yet by the camera, this attitude can be made manually. Since Pentax produced to date approximately 23 million own objectives, this is probably the only manufacturer world-wide, that can use this quantity of objectives blur-free.

The K100D be based on a steel chassis with strengthened plastic coating and is still characterised by many further details, which move her already quite close toward professional league. Thus it has e.g. a monitor with wide angle view, for which also a side view makes possible on the display of up to 140 degrees. With the so-called PreShot function one knows as it were a “Probeschuss” make, what means that one makes unfavorable light or visibilities first an admission, which is not abgespreichert on the monitor becomes visible however immediately.

The designation the new mirror reflex of Pentax reminds of times, in which Germany in the own country became now football world champion (and hopefully also again becomes). The Topseller in siebzigern was called K at that time 1000 and was an imperturbable tool of many professionals and amateurs.

This is a translation from www.gruppovip.com's Tr@anslation Plus V10.0 :-

After it doesn't give any digital mirror reflex camera with anti shake to system since the departure of Konica Minolta at the time on the market, Pentax with the new K100D announces exactly such a camera. The advantage of this technology lies that the picture stabilization doesn't have to exist in every lens, that considers her/it/them for itself in the Kamera-Body. So one can use also older lenses and nevertheless into the pleasure of sharp pictures can come.
Like a small miracle, it then feels to one that for example analogously at a reception with 600 mm, 400 mm, and a shutter time of" only” a 1/200stel the reception freely also without the bulky tripod possible is. No matter which Pentax-Objektiv with K-Bajonett is used, whether from the m series or a current there lens - one into the camera casing integrated and magnetically controlled sensor evens out movements of the camera reliably. The calculator integrated into the camera recognizes on that occasion which lens is used with which focal length, and gives a talking to the attitudes necessary for it to Reduction system for the shake.
With the older lenses, that are not yet recognized by the camera, this attitude can be performed manually. Since Pentax produced until dato approximately 23 million own lenses, this is presumably the single manufacturer world-wide, who can use this quantity verwacklungsfrei of lenses.
The K100D is based on a steel chassis with reinforced plastic coat and still distinguishes itself through many further details, that they already move Profi-Liga in direction quite near. So, she/it owns a monitor with Weitwinkelsicht, that makes also a side view possible on the display of up to 140 degrees, for example. With the so-called PreShot-Funktion, one can a" test shot so to speak” what means does, that one makes a reception, that doesn't become abgespreichert, for an unfavorable light or visibility at first however immediately on the monitor visible becomes.
The name the late mirror reflex of Pentax reminds at times, in which Germany became in the own country Fussball-Weltmeister and now becomes also again hopefully. Was called K 1000 the Topseller in the seventies at that time and was an unshakable tool of many pros and amateurs.

Looks to me like a step in the right direction. It remains to be seen how the noise issue is dealt with.

LOL!

At least it's got a reasonable name... but I misread it as a K1000 first time!

Ok - these are both 6.1Mp bodies. One with SR (Shake Reduction). Looks like they replace the *ist-DS and *ist-DL.

Peter,

If memory cards came in little plastic tubs with 'Velvia' written on the top, would that help?

Anyway, can we please have a vertical grip for the R2D2? Or K2D, or whatever it will be... That's a serious issue for me. I suppose it's too much to ask that the one for the D would fit it.

But the image stabilising has got me excited! I don't often feel like this about cameras, they're just things you use to get your pictures, but I have to admit I envied Minolta users (for a while, not any more ). IS would come in handy.

Exciting times for Pentax users (including you, Peter?).

The grip is important to me too. I think it unlikely that The D battery grip will fit the K100D/K110D as their bodies seem to be based on the DL body having a pentamirror.

I certainly hope Pentax continues their backwards compatibility with the D replacement to include the grip.

BTW, there is a third party vertical grip available for the DS etc. Have a look at ebay item 7621692634

These always look a bit Heath Robinson to me, especially the lead plugging into the remote socket, although that one looks to be better than some I've seen.

But surely, surely, it's something Pentax should produce.

I just hope the 10 megapixel D2 or whatever it's called includes the cam to use old M and K lenses in apeture priority mode. Using the same vertical grip would be a nich touch, too.
