Helston Flora Day in Cornwall

this is what we 've been getting up to down these 'ere parts this week................Dancing here, prancing there, jigging, jogging everywhere" To the beat of the big bass drum, elegant gentlemen and their ladies dance in and out of Churches, shops and houses. The day starts with the 7.00 am dance (originally for the servants of the gentry) with the Gentlemen wearing shirt and tie and the ladies wearing light summer dresses. This is followed by a boisterous dance cum play called the Hal-an-Tow, Verses of this have reference to Robin Hood, the Spanish Armada and St George and the dragon.
At noon the main dance of the day is started. This is the formal dance with the men wearing morning dress and the ladies magnificent ball gowns and hats that could be the envy of "Ascot." (BTY way lots of grog is consummed too)

I'd crop the second one. right down the middle of the first lady's back.
It's a nice shot, photographically speaking....but from the perspective of the woman, not terribly flattering.

Guys...if a woman ever asks you "Does this dress make me look fat?"
There is only one right answer....
("the dress has nothing to do with it...It's your a$$" is not right.)

I remember you getting it a few months back. Have you brought those lenses listed since then or did you already have them ???

Yes, well loving my K10D, no complaints at all, best decision ever...

Apart from the 18-55 kit lens that came with it, the rest are what I bought 15+ years ago for the Penax Z1 (another superb camera) and I can verify they work superbly with K10D, so if you see any secondhand go for them, AF is smooth as a babies bum, the 135mm results are amazing, my fav lens, they are all SMC-FA.

I to love the K10D but for me it is my first Kept SLR. By this I mean I had the Olympus E500, the Canon 400D and the Nikon D80 for about 2 weeks each. I just was lucky enough to get each them exchanged as I told them I was not happy.

The Nikon D80 is the best of those 3 above by far in my opinion and felt just as good as the K10D except the quiet and smooth movement of the D80 was much better. What swung it for the K10D was the reviews and the comparison to the D200 Nikon in terms of features and also the SR and Dust removal and the knowledge that pentax have some new lenses soon and of course folks views here.

I have now started a small collection of Pentax Lenses. I have a Cosina 28mm A, a Pentax 50mm F SMC and a Pentax A 80-200mm SMC.

All are great Lenses but I really like the results of the 18-55mm starnge enough. God nows how pleased I would be with the 16-45mm but I am waiting for the new 16-50mm to come out.

I wish you'd post large photos as links like this all the time - it's the only time I ever get to see the whole thing when they're in portrait orientation, since the browser resizes them automatically, whereas it doesn't when they're inline. I'm sure I'm not alone in having a monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024, and in not having the patience to constantly copy it elsewhere so that I can see it all.

Cheers Pete - it just makes life a lot easier for the one looking at the photo.

The reason I prefer links once the thread discussion is under way is because you don't have to scroll for miles to get to the comments.

If a picture can be seen in its entirety when it's the first in the thread, I think that's fine. For subsequent ones I like to have the choice of clicking on a link - and of course if it's a link, you get the pic in a new tab (or window), and can toggle between resized for the window or full size, which is nice if you want to look at a particular part of the image.

Just my preference, though, nothing more.

I agree with this, I am even more limited since my monitor is 1024x768. Poor computer has been neglected somewhat in recent years since my Photography, Fencing and shooting hobbies have taken most of the cash.
