Thanks all. Yes, it has been reported to the British Transport Police and I have started an insurance claim. Thankfully, I never throw the boxes away so I have plenty of proof that I owned one.

Meanwhile... if anyone has a K-3iii for sale...

Thanks, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Does it have to be a K-3iii? A KP would be a great stop-gap (and I've got a couple...)

There's a K1 on Ebay right now at a low price (currently)
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thankfully the insurance paid out without a fuss. I replaced the FA31 with a DA* 16-50 from SRS (which has arrived) and a K-3iii from KEH (which is currently languishing in customs at Stansted).

I'll replace the FA31 when I see a good one going second hand.

Thanks all. k.

Very glad to read this. I hope you mean the new HD 16-50/2.8 and not the older SDM one.

Yes, a brand-new copy of the HD lens. I never invested in the older one as I didn't trust the focusing to last.

Yay! The K-3iii turned-up just half an hour before I leave for the airport for a short trip to Malta. Quick check, all seems well. I would have preferred to have had my original K-3iii but this is not a bad second-best.
