Help with K3

Just been using my K3, and it has an interesting anomaly…

When I switch it on, the focus icon flashes furiously between MF & AF numerous times per second and also the AF selection icon flashes furiously too.

Switching off & on doesn't help. Even removing the batteries doesn't help.
Had to remove them a few times, with switching on & off too.

Evebntually it sorts its self out. This happened 7 or 8 times the other day…

I came home and cleaned all the contacts on lens and body.
Success… as I couldn't replicate it again.

Now to today, it starts doing it all over again…

Any suggestions, or does it go back to SRS?

PS I have a friend's wedding to do next weekend

What lens do have mounted on the camera when it is doing this? I have seen this behaviour with lenses that won't autofocus, e.g. AF teleconverters that are not compatible, but not on any other occasions. My best guess, if not an incompatible lens, would be lens contacts. Try it with a different lens and if the behaviour doesn't occur you know it is the lens that is causing it.

Thoroughly clean all contacts if you don't have another lens to try.

Hi David, thanks for the reply.
I'm using it with my DA*16-50.

I cleaned all the contacts but got the issue again.

After scratching my head for a while, I have now noticed that one of the small copper connections on the lens is not stuck down. It looks like it's off for repair.
After trying a few things, I couldn't even get the shutter to change (was in manual at the time)
I will try a different lens tomorrow, am at work just now.
