Still not sure which lens to go for but it will be between (I think) the Pentax 12-24 and the Sigma 10-20 forget the cost at the moment please and tell me what you think of the lens and if you have used both which is the best to go for.

Sorry to be a pain but basically I need you to tell me what to buy, please.

Pentax 12-24mm without a doubt.

Virtually no distortion, superb sharpness, great build quality and a consistent colour balance with your other Pentax lenses.

I owned the Sigma 10-20 for a while but recently sold it...it's a very good lens when you get a decent copy (I tried 3) but personally I didn't find it as useful as I expected for landscape shots, wasn't too keen on the distortion either

this is just my opinion though, there's lots of people who really enjoy this lens....from reviews I read before buying the Pentax suffers less distortion, is sharper (especially in the corners) but does suffer more CA

Or check the Samsung 12-24 thread and hopefully get one for less than half price!

if it's not signaficant price difference, it's always safe to go for pentax own lenses. the extra 4 mm would make you less lens changing than sigma's. however, 2 mm wider of sigma 10-20mm would give you some pleasant fisheye distortion, which actually adds some features on your photo.

I have been owning 10-20mm for 2 years, and never bothered to upgrade to Pentax 12-24mm. when i am searching for the utra-wide one, the price and good feedback drove me to it, and never regreted.

Here is an example:
