Help! Are these the same sprays?

Essentially how dark something can be before it appears completely black. I think they are claiming that it helps you see the shadow detail that in a straight print would be hard to discern (like bringing up the pattern on a mosaic floor by getting it wet, to use an archaeological analogy).
No idea if they are the same thing.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Dmax = -log10(minimum print reflectivity) is a measure of the deepest black tone a display or printer/ink/paper combination can reproduce. It is an extremely important quality factor. Images with poor Dmax look pale and weak. Dmax = 1.7 is a good value for matte prints; 2.0 is a good value for glossy, semigloss, and luster prints.

I was recommended to use the Hahnemuhle spray by a print expert at the RPS but there was a problem obtaining it at the time so I bought the Permajet spray instead. Permajet produce two different protective sprays for gloss (Permaseal) and for matt (Permafix). I have tried the matt version which gave a nice even spray without any large droplets but didn’t notice any difference in the colour or shade intensity.
I cannot see what finish the Hahnemuhle gives so I would recommend testing it on some small photos first.

So, which spray to get?
I'm currently printing on Olmec heavyweight lustre paper and everything I print is either framed behind glass or cardboard mounted and cello bagged as a completed kit so I don't want the print sticking to glass like a gloss print would do.
I did print a test image earlier using the paper earlier in my new R3000 printer and they weren't too shabby in the blacks as they're pigment inks.

Posted the above and was composing it as you had replied sorry!
That's very handy to know, so the Hahnemuhle is better for me then with my paper choice.

I would like to hear how you find it! I masked half a photo to see if there was any difference in the surface or colour intensity.

I'll order it tomorrow
Looking at pens to sign my prints also.
Saw this website:
https://www.redrivercatalog.com/infocenter/tips/pens-pencils-for-signing-inkjet-...
I know BVS uses this pen for his:
https://www.hahnemuehle.com/en/digital-fineart/protect-authenticate/signing-pen-...
The pens on the first website link to Amazon where the pens are for sale and they're cheaper than the Hahnemuehle. Usually around £10 for a pack of 5 or so, the Hahnemuhle is £15 and comes with a pencil that's great for signing mounts but not prints.

And then there are authentification stamps and the “limited edition” certification!
