I've taken photographs ever since, but had to be dragged kicking and screaming into digital photography, as I couldn't believe it was 'proper' photography! I now know considerable better, and am amazed at the possibilities a decent digital darkroom has. I do still use and enjoy film, although sadly I don't still have the SV; I sometimes use a medium format Mamiya or a very old (but still going strong) Leica rangefinder.
I dallied with Nikon for a while, but went back to Pentax again with the K10D. I now have a freshly bought K-r, after a lot of research, as it seems to have an incredible specification for not a lot of money - I did want the K-5, but couldn't afford it!
I guess I am primarily a landscape photographer, although that includes industrial landscapes as well, as I love the melancholy nature of industrial architecture, old docklands etc... I'm lucky enough to live in the Cotswolds, so I have some fabulous countryside around, and I can't wait to get out and have a good session with the new K-r!
I look forward to contributing to the forum, which seems very approachable and friendly.
Best wishes
Michael
