Hello from southern Scotland

Happy Easter everybody. Robert here from Penicuik - not far from Edinburgh. I'm a Canadian from Montreal, an Anglican clergyman serving with the Scottish Episcopal Church. I ran around the southern Yukon with an old SP1000 in the mid 70's and then put down the camera for a couple of decades. I've started again - there's lots to shoot here in Scotland. I'm really enjoying looking at everybody else's work here and look forward to contributing my own bits.

Like any forum, it takes a while to discover which discussions would be the most useful for me. I've got some good kit which I'm still learning (or relearning) how to use. I'm avoidiing the temptation to invest in new lenses - will find a way of using old lenses on a new body which, I suspect, will pay dividends in the long run by having to be a wee bit more prepared before I trip the shutter.

I don't know why some pictures (quite a few, really) don't end up looking the way I want them to in terms of contrast or colour. Framing is not that difficult for me - I remember some of that from the old days. I miss not having a darkroom (and have no space in the rectory for one).

Hi Robert
Welcome to the Forum, you are only a 30 minute drive from me, i live in a little town called Shotts just along the M8 from you.

On the query of your pictures not looking like you want them to thats just mostly down to PP, it can be like learning to read again in all honesty.
If theres any pictures you are needing a little advice on PP wise then i will be happy to try and help.
